If you always use the same mixin value for all of your transactions there will be a small information leak. So it is perhaps wise to use a random value within a comfortable range. However humans aren't good at random so it would be nice if the client could handle this. Ergo perhaps it could be useful for simplewallet to accept a mixin range rather than a single value and select a random value from with in this range.
