Running OS X and latest GUI (Not from git)

I created a wallet, went to advanced --> Mining --> set my threads and clicked Start Mining. I can see the hash rate, (about 40H/s) Network status is Connected. But, I don't know if I'm actually doing anything, I don't know when or where I should see my balance changes or how long does it takes to get some results. I didn't changed any settings other then my CPU threads.

It's my first time with Monero, go easy on me.

And while I'm here, a question for the future. I'm going to use Nvidia 1060 GPU soon, How can I mine Monero with with it (Still in MacOS)? I want solo mining for now until I get some real results.
