It's time for the Monero community to come together and realize the goal of a hardware wallet!

TO BE DETAILED

This is a placeholder FFS for a proposal to be written once other RFC-HWALLET-X proposals are considered.

Hello,

I'm new to these forums but I wanted to pop in and drop my link to a GitHub repository for a hardware enclosure that I customized for another crypto coin community.

I'm a mechanical engineer, I have over 10 years of experience with CAD and 3D modeling and I have equal experience with 3D printing.

I'd very much like to be a part of this enclosure design. I will be keeping up to date on this ffs / open task. :)

We're well along on the first prototype board format, shown in the taiga project task #29. In case you'd like to help with an enclosure design I can deliver a unpopulated board with drill holes and edges in all the right places.

Either a physical board is good. Or some gerbers outa Eagle or Altium or Orcad or whatever it is you are using is good too. It's best to design to the measurements, but then of course always to double/triple/quadruple check everything as you go.

I joined the monero slack, I don't know if you are there to chat or anything. I can also drop by IRC to discuss this as well. Cheers!

Edit: I have the exact measurements ala breaking bitcoin repo, ty.

That's quite a unique and cool design, and just as cool that Github can shade or ray trace in the browser (using OpenGL I guess?) There's no doubt you're well qualified with this, and great to hear you're enthusiastic about a hardware wallet enclosure design.

The PCB board design [1] will start and take some months to complete, but I have an idea of the size and format of a developer version already. It may be 5.25cm x 6.5cm and closely resemble this:
