I tried making a payment and my wallet just says PENDING in the history and when checking the payment, it says the receiving address has received the payment but the transaction hasn't been mined yet.

This has been more than 12 hours ago.

How long does it take to actually mine the payment? I used the Default (4x fee) transaction fee amount and not sure if it should be taking this long.

I've checked on xmrchain to see if it's in the blockchain and there is not record of the transaction hash.

Is there a way to cancel or retract a pending transaction? Or do I just have to wait indefinitely while my money is hanging somewhere in cyberspace?
