Hi,
I sent myself from an exchange to a local wallet one monero two weeks ago. The problem I have is that while the blockchain synchronizes it somehow feeds way too many others and this slows downs the computer too much AND EATS UP ALL MY BANDWIDTH!
I have received a hefty bill from my ISP AND still have not fully synchronized all and NOT received the monero sent.
How can I get the transaction completed? Is there a way to prevent others from stealing all my resources while I download the database? Its been over 2 weeks now. I am still at 39 days to sync and at that speed it will take 10 TB and 2 months, which is of course unacceptable.

Hi,
I am getting to the end BUT it downloads 20 times more bandwidth than what gets saved into the database, that is very bad. I am a 28 days remaining and it take about 500M per day!! It took 3GB to get from 33 days to 28 days.
So beware, to get the whole thing in sync will take many days of waiting AND use as much as 200 GB of transfer.
My 2 cents.
